Refund for cancellation (COV19)

I have been reading the recent reviews regarding Hotelopia and refunds (due to COV19) to see what others were experiencing before contacting Hotelopia again today. I was going to Seville 2-5 April and Hotelopia cancelled my hotel booking 27 March, saying refund within 5 - 20 working days. I contacted their head office via e-mail 27 April and was sent a reply that they would endeavour to respond within 7 business days, but of course no joy. However as I said before, I thought I would try to contact them again today, but first checked my bank on the off chance that my refund had arrived and it had, I was refunded on 13th May!!! (Thank you Hotelopia). So all I want to say to everybody waiting out there, fingers crossed they are now getting sorted and you will get your money back soon. I rated them at three stars due to the wait involved. Good luck.

This site is REAL and Legit. It worked for me exactly as one would expect. Booked and payed for the room and received confirmation emails. Called the hotel few days later just to confirm (doubts due to bad reviews on here) and room was already paid for. No problems here on my end. Call the hotel ahead of you have doubts. I used Priceline and found Hotelopia was the cheapest.

Refund

I had to cancel my hotel booking after Ryanair flights cancellation. I was worried after reading some bad reviews how I am going to get my refund. I called customer service to cancel and money was refunded back in my account the next day! ( I was told it would take 5 - 20 days)

This is just to reassure everyone that Hotelopia is a legit site and they are not scammers. I made a booking recently and it took a few days to go through but the hotel in New York just confirmed it was in their system. Their customer service is just overwhelmed with calls due to the current crisis. I started freaking out at first after reading the slew of negative comments on here but be patient. Bear in mind their offices are located in England so obviously it's important to call during business hours. Don't panic!

Used twice now with no problems

I've used Hotelopia twice now, once for a one night stay in the USA and again for a night's stay in Spain. Both times I emailed the hotel directly to confirm my reservation (after reading the bad reviews online, I wanted confirmation from the hotels themselves) and I received replies confirming my booking was in the system. There were no problems upon arrival at the hotels, and the pre-payment online worked as it should. The reason I have given them 4 stars instead of 5 is that their website is not very clear; you often have to cross reference your room type with the official hotel website to work out exactly what it is you're booking. This could potentially catch people out if they do not do their research.

Bought 6 different nights with this…

Bought 6 different nights with this group and assumed it was safe as it was on Topcashback (each transaction tracked right away) - and I was sure I had heard of it before. I was a bit queasy as some of the site layout and grammar was off, hmm, so I Googled them and got this and then panic stations.So I emailed the hotel and they e-mailed back saying not to worry, all nights were confirmed (and they were a lot cheaper than others, how I do not know). After this, I had to cancel anyway and was worried becuase of said reviews. When I cancelled it says "5 - 20 working days for refund" which is silly and caused more concern since every other comapny has it in account within 3.In any case, every penny was back in two days.So apart from a little squiffiness, I would use this company again without any trouble, 1.8 really is quite unfair in my experience and opinion. I don't know, but I thought it fair to give some balance.

very nice price but weakness in reservation operations

Very nice price for a 4* hotel in San Diego. Our stay was flawless.However there was no way to review the booking details from their website (nor the ability to cancel it online) - the confirmation number for the booking was written on a survey mail received to review my experience during booking. No other confirmation mail has been received.Waited for 45min on the phone using their US customer service - No answer.Got a private message to my inquiry from Facebook telling me to call their UK hotline. Finally got confirmation from their UK hotline giving me the reservation reference number provided by the hotel.
