Huge thank you to every crew member of flight ZB909 Friday 11/08/17 from Dalaman to Birmingham. Your cabin crew and pilots went over and above the call of duty to help us with our autistic child when Birmingham airport let us down again. Thank you for your help, you have no idea how much that meant. Thank you all for your patience and humanity where others (Birmingham airport) seem not willing to help or understand. Monarch airways should be hugely proud to have such superb staff.

I've just come off the phone to Monarch where they dealt with my request swiftly and I was impressed by their friendly customer service. Okay I had to pay to change my flight and had to wait a little while on the phone but these are all to be expected in the world of travel. I was most impressed also by the time taken to respond to my email request (only a day). Well done Monarch!

Initially, when I booked with Monarch - I naturally assumed that they would be better than Ryanair and quite a good airline but I think I am wrong! I was due to fly back from Barcelona with them to Birmingham this week but my grandfather passed away so I decided no longer to go. I tried to fill in an online form for bereavement but they didn't have one (Ryanair has one, which is excellent) so I tried to phone - call centres are closed on a weekend?! So I waited until Monday to phone them and I explained what has happened to the woman on the phone and she said is doing it through insurance not possible? If it was - why would I be on the phone to Monarch trying to get a refund?! So, after what felt like persuasion to get my money back - she finally admitted they DO give credit notes towards your next flight with Monarch in the next 12 months. Err, what if I don't want to fly Monarch again or they go bust? What do I do then? I sent them the death certificate and am waiting for a response. I guess it's better than nothing but I had high hopes for this airline and was expecting it to be much better than Ryanair but it isn't! Ryanair are MUCH more understanding! Also, £3 to check in online? What's that all about? Ryanair - it is FREE the week before! It might be an OK airline to fly with but not when something happens!EditI finally used the credit note. I flew to Rome and the flight was great! Friendly staff, clean plane and landed 20 minutes early! I am due to fly them to Madrid next month and Tel Aviv later in the year (at an AMAZING price!) would recommend! Hope they don't go bust like some rumours suggest!

I have just returned from a 2 week break to Madiera travelling with Monarch and suffered terrible panic attacks and fear of flying. The 2 cabin crew members Catt and Maria were so supportive and kind, they even made sure if they were not on the return flight they would inform the staff who were and let them know so i could enjoy my holiday.They kept to their promise and the return flight crew made sure they helped.My sincere thanks to Catt and Maria who said they were there for me and it was not just about the tea and coffee, they were outstanding and a credit to Monarch who should be proud to have them on their staff.Unfortunately my phobia has become such that i do not think i will be able to fly again but Catt and Maria are a credit to their profession

Flew to Madeira, plane wasn't full so had seats with good leg room, flight on time and no problems. Had a 3 hr delay on the way back due to technical problems but happy to wait than have a duff plane.

We use Monarch regularly and have never had any issues so I totally recommend them.

For low cost travel when the kids are in School its adequate, when we arrived in Luton the desk staff were friendly and we made our way through security to the plane in plenty of time. Tried the food on board on the way out and became very jealous of an old girl who had brought a Pret a Manger sandwich on, the Monarch toasties were awful. Make sure you weigh your luggage and have your booking in sheet printed though, as that can cost you more than the flight if you are not careful. But if you avoid the food and are not expecting too much you wont be disappointed the staff are better than easyjet and ryan air in my experience.

We arrived at Leeds Bradford airport on July 14th 2017 and we booked priority check in to allow more time at the airport but the priority lane was being used by other customers which should not be allowed as they never paid anything an we paid £6 per person. This was annoying an the Swissport staff for Monarch are very rude here, After check in, we headed to security and got stopped for not taking electronics out of our bags which we were not told about. We booked fast track and probably would've missed our flight if we never booked this. At the departures the screens said Final Call - Gate 10 and they never started boarding yet. Again, Swissports fault I know.Once aboard the Aircraft which was an Airbus A320 registered as G-ZBAP and had a lovely cabin and the crew was very helpful. The flight departed late as we never boarding until 5 mins before departure so we never left the gate until 5 mins after departure and took to the skies 10 mins later. The flight ran smoothly with wonderful crew and couldn't be more helpful. We even had to go around due to congestion so instead of landing at 19.50 (originally scheduled for 20.00) we landed at 20.04 at Tenerife South. As I live in Scotland, it is harder to get down to England and as Leeds Bradford Airport isn't one we'll be visiting for a while we will be going to Manchester and our next time flying from Manchester will be Monarch Well Done Monarch! Well Done!

Another two excellent flights with Monarch airlines this week. I like the fact that they have the walkway on and off the plane. The staff are friendly, helpful and polite. The hand baggage allowance is good. Generally all good and I will definitely use them again.
